Draft Video

When choosing my characters i had to decid on defined faces to m ake my audience remember them. This included threatening faces and defined features so that my audience didnt get bored. The setting also included gritty ally ways to make sure that they remembered the initial meaning of the film. This must be kept the whole way throyugh because the initial meaning of the film is shown through the way in which my film has been created.

Costume Design

My characters had to look how i wanted them to, so i needed cars that only people my age would be able to afford and clothing you would expect to see them wearing at this day and age. and then when i was filming the older generation i included Hawaiian shirts and suites mainly black.

I had to make sure the boy and girl in the modern gang looked on point. So i used dark clothing but they included new brands such as 'puma' 'Adidas' and 'nike'.

But these brands were only shown in the close ups with the gritty street floors and dirty fences in the background. I think that these two perceptions in the she frame make a good setting. The difference between the two costumes from the new gang and the old gang is try visible as the old gang is only filmed inside a house where as the new film is filmed in a alleyway and a car patrolling the streets.

4.How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

4.How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Some of the technology included that i used was photoshop and final cut pro. These helped me a lot when i wanted to make my film and posters as good as i could. Without these media technologies my work would not be up to the standard that i would want it to be at. I also used the website 'blogger' to show all of my coursework, posting new feed and keeping it up to date with my practical work. There are cartoon animations that you can also upload to your blog to make it look more professional.

For my filming i used a camera that my father owns, it is a very new one so its easy to capture each scene that i needed. Close ups were used and made to look good by changing the focus on it this makes the film look better.

Photoshop was especially used when i wanted to make my poster and magazine cover using layers and editing the brightness and saturation i could make my magazine look more real and pragmatical.

New Film

My improved film contains more props actors and better settings. My initial film idea was to focus on the gritty sides of street life such as ally ways and houses. Props included cars cigarettes and flashy trainers. This is for the newer gangs props the older gangs props include props such as swords, suits and old Hawaiian shirts that you would expect too see in the 90s.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

From the audience feedback i gained knowledge to help me make my wok better as the first time i attempted my film it was unsuccessful as the angles were all wrong but my motive was correct. From audience feedback i have realized that there are many methods to help me improve my work such as the concentration on the four point including mis en scene, editing and camera angles. The over shoulder angle is something i can improve on as i always position the camera to high and this does not benefit my film because it makes it look tacky. Other advise i have been given is the setting of the film and where it should be established because this is one of the most important aspects of filming so that the audience can know exactly what the film is trying to show. Other points such as props needed to be including the clothing of my original character was not affective enough it looked too normal, after realizing this i researched films relating to mine and wondered if i should make my props/clothing ore visible than they do which proved useful because then the audience knew what to expect from each character.

The feedback is important because i now know what my audience expects from the film i will be showing. It is difficult to grasp this in one bit of filming but with audience feedback i feel that you can improve and gain better skills to make this more efficient for the public.

Evaluation Of Production

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products ?

My development is shown when i attempted to make my product first time over, i did not use a tripod so the outcome was very blurry and messy. When using this as development in my new product i have shown the angles in a better way with a tripod because it will make my film easier to watch. Challenge forms such as a close up on an old man to capture the age and importance in one shot was very difficult to capture as the lighting has a large impact on the way in which the face looks, for example if the lighting was bright and direct.

For gaining knowledge i have used films such as Kidulthood to make sure i can use the right ways of filming. I have used the way they focus on the gritty areas to show impact on the film. This helps the general setting of my film to be established. I have learnt that my hands are shaky when i hold the camera and this means that using a tripod can give me more of an advantage to capture scenes with a more professional approach.

actors

the models i will be using for my trailer are James Leader and Jonathan Adebanjo. One of them will be wearing old school gang clothes and the other will be seen in modern gang fasion to show the difference in time shown in gangs. I will film one in black and white and one in color to give the audicne an obviouse idea of what is what. I will be using mid en scene to show the different interpritations of how clothes can show some sort of icon in a person.

This is what the modern person will be wearing to show class and respect. Compared to the old person you would imagine it to be the other way round which was my initial idea and the reason i have chosen to do it like this is because after viewing information about gangs the new gangs seem to want to bring back the oldschool look. The film gangster squad is one of my chosen inspirations
